“Guided by the 2012 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report Epilepsy Across the Spectrum: Promoting Health and Understanding, we the USC Epilepsy Care Consortium continue to focus on improving the care and quality of life of individuals and families suffering from epilepsy. Through this Consortium, we create a new strategy of Epilepsy Care across wide geography, and independent of patient demographics. This Consortium builds on expertise close to home, as well as enabling specialized epilepsy care and coordination of care whenever and wherever it is needed. All members of our Consortium collaborate to strengthen patient data, share resources and therefore reduce unnecessary costs, ensuring the right treatment at the right location. Utilizing our breadth of expertise and access to technology, we all share in the coordination of patient care and case management decisions. This is an exciting new day for patients with epilepsy from all corners of our state and beyond”
