Saman Hazany, MD is a board and CAQ certified radiologist/neuroradiologist, director of fMRI and advanced neuroimaging at the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System, professor of radiology at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and associate professor of radiology at Keck School of Medicine of USC. Dr. Hazany has been involved in care of numerous patients with epilepsy. As a member of the USC surgical epilepsy consortium USC Epilepsy Care Consortium (USCECC) and the GLA VA Epilepsy Center of Excellence, Dr. Hazany has made significant contributions to epilepsy patient care, research, and education. His research is currently focused on the imaging and genetic aspects of medial temporal lobe epilepsy and its relationship with surgical outcome, through utilizing techniques such as automated segmentation of hippocampal subfields and spatial transcriptomics.
