“The Epilepsy Center at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center was established in 2007 with the mission of providing comprehensive, advanced epilepsy treatment to all patients in Los Angeles County, regardless of their financial or insurance status. Rancho is the central, single Epilepsy Monitoring Unit for all of Los Angeles Department of Health Services (DHS), the second-largest municipal health system in the country. In 2016, Rancho achieved Level 4 NAEC accreditation, which indicates the most advanced level of epilepsy care. As likely the first and only public hospital in the nation to do so, Rancho has demonstrated that high-level care and excellent outcomes are attainable in spite of the limited resources of a public hospital. This has been possible largely through expertise-sharing, resource maximization and strategic partnerships via the Epilepsy Consortium”
