Medical Director, Pediatric Neurology
Medical Director, Valley Children’s Hospital Epilepsy Center
“Epilepsy care must be organized as interconnected centers capable of
providing a broad spectrum of services that cover the regional needs
across the socioeconomic and age spectra. This is perhaps even more
evident in Central California, where only two NAEC certified epilepsy
centers exist between Sacramento and Los Angeles. Through the USC
Epilepsy Care Consortium, the pediatric epilepsy program at Valley
Children’s Hospital partners with the program serving adults epilepsy
patients at Kern Medical as well as all of the other Consortium centers
to create a singular resource for some of the most highly-underserved
patient in our state, with the goal of providing as much of the care
as possible locally.”
